While Anna Nicole Smith led a very prominent life, her daughter led a very private one. In 2006, Smith welcomed her daughter, Dannielynn Birkhead, but instead of being an occasion for joy and celebration, it was marred by the untimely loss of Smith’s older son, according to People.
On September 7, Anna Nicole gave birth to a healthy 6 lb, 9 oz. baby girl, according to a statement on Smith’s website. She also announced the death of her son.
When he unexpectedly passed away on September 10 in the morning, her son Daniel was in the Bahamas with her to share in the joy of his newborn sister.” Soon after giving birth to Dannielynn, Smith had another hiccup when she had to contend with a paternity test from her ex-boyfriend, Larry Birkhead.
According to People, Larry thought he was the father of Dannielynn and not Howard K. Stern, Smith’s legal advisor, who was named the father on the birth certificate.
Sadly, during the intense paternity dispute, Smith died in February 2007 from an accidental overdose just a few months after giving birth to Dannielynn, according to Insider.
