Kylie Jenner Reveals the Reason She Legally Changed Her Son’s Name From ‘Wolf’ to ‘Aire’

When Kylie Jenner gave birth to her second child with Travis Scott on February 2, 2022, the couple (who have since split) decided to name him Wolf Jacques Webster. It didn’t take long for the 24-year-old (now 25 years old) to realize it wasn’t the right name for him and she quite quickly decided to change it.

She notified her fans and followers of the change in late-March 2022 – nearly two months after Aire was born. “FYI our son’s name isn’t Wolf anymore,” she wrote in a statement posted on her Instagram Story. “We just really didn’t feel like it was him. Just wanted to share because I keep seeing Wolf everywhere.”

Unfortunately, Kylie failed to mention what they were changing his name to – sending her fans into a frenzy as they tried to figure it out through trial and error. That frenzy continued for nearly 10 months until she finally decided to share her son’s real name on Instagram in January 2023 – it’s Aire Webster.

By March, court documents – obtained by TODAY – revealed that Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott (born Jacques Bermon Webster II) filed to legally change their son’s name. It was later approved by Judge Valerie Salkin of the Los Angeles County Superior Court in June – officially making Aire his legal name.

“I didn’t realize the postpartum (hormones) would hit me that hard. I never called him Wolf ever. And then the second night, I was like, ‘Ooh,’” she said during a confessional – adding that the name wasn’t even on her list. “That night, I cried in the shower, and I was like, ‘That’s not his name. What did I just do? Wolf?!’
